Submission guidelines

The agency accepts fiction and non-fiction submissions through its online submission form. Fiction: send a brief bio, synopsis and the first three chapters or 50 pages of the manuscript. Non-fiction: send a brief bio, the pitch of the book and one sample chapter. Restrictions: children's books are not represented. Only submissions from authors resident in the UK are considered. Format: paper submissions are not accepted. The online form requires a cover letter pasted in, plus sample chapters and a synopsis uploaded as doc, pdf, rtf, otf or docx files (max. file size 128 MB).

Jack began their publishing career at Bloomsbury in 2004, then worked at 4th Estate, Hodder, Penguin Random House and HarperCollins over a seventeen-year career as an editor and publisher. In 2019, Jack set up the Mudlark imprint at HarperCollins, which focuses on quality non-fiction. Jack was nominated as editor of the year at the British Book Awards in 2018.
