Agency submission guidelines

Submissions are accepted by email only; physical submissions are not accepted or responded to unless an agent has invited material that way. Writers should check individual agent profiles under the 'team' tab and submit to only one agent at a time, without blind-copying. Most genres of fiction and non-fiction are accepted, but not plays or film scripts. There is no need to call in advance or follow up to confirm receipt. Attachments up to 5MB are accepted by the server. Send a short covering letter, including a blurb for the book and some information about the author. For fiction: a synopsis of the novel (no more than two pages) and the opening 50 pages of the manuscript, usually the first three chapters. For non-fiction: a book proposal including an introduction, chapter breakdown, and some sample material, totalling approximately 50 pages. All submissions should be clear and legible, in Word Doc (.doc or.docx) format, formatted in a standard way (at least 1.5 line spacing, page-numbered, on A4 paper recommended), with contact details included.

Agency AI policy

Submissions must be the original work of the author and not generated, co-written or edited using artificial intelligence.
