Agency submission guidelines
The agency accepts submissions for full-length work only. Short stories and novellas are not considered. Children's and erotica are not currently being accepted by any agent. What to send: A covering letter and a synopsis. Covering letter: It is often beneficial to include a couple of similar books, where the manuscript might sit in a bookshop and its genre. Mention any previous writing experience or publications, if any. Any direct, lived experience that has shaped the work can also be mentioned. Synopsis: Should include the main characters, the main plot twists and the resolution (what happens at the end). Contact details: A telephone number should be provided, as agents may want to call to discuss the submission. In-house sharing: Queries and submissions may be shared in-house; if a query is not right for one agent it may be passed to a colleague for consideration. Previous declines: Submissions already declined by another agent at the agency are not considered.
