Submission guidelines

Currently closed for author-only submissions, but actively seeking Illustrator submissions. Submit by email to submissions@storywise.uk with a short covering letter giving your best sales pitch, a brief description of the work, a couple of sentences about your intended audience, and a little about you, your writing and publishing experience. Let them know if another agency has requested your full manuscript or you have been offered representation. Picture books: a selection of three finished texts (each no longer than 800 words), each with a one or two sentence pitch summarising the story and its hook. Please supply in Word format. Fiction: a brief synopsis together with the first three chapters of your manuscript in Word format, telling them who your intended audience is and where you see your work fitting in the current marketplace (comparative titles). Non-fiction: a CV indicating any specialist knowledge of your subject, and a proposal detailing the idea behind the book, who it's for, content style and where it would sit in the current market. Illustrators: send an initial portfolio of 10-12 images (jpeg or PDF) of up to 5Mb in size and links to either a website or Instagram. Don't send links to file transfer sites like Dropbox. Submissions sent by post cannot be considered and will not be returned.
