Clare is the founder and head of the Liverpool Literary Agency.
She has more than 20 years' experience of writing and editing professionally, including publishing two novels. She also has a background in PR and marketing and experience teaching creative writing, giving her extensive experience in pitching and promoting writers.

Agency submission guidelines
The agency accepts adult fiction of all genres and upper NA/Crossover fantasy/sci-fi. Crossover (16+) fiction is only accepted by Laura Bennett in the Fantasy (including Urban), science fiction, Dystopian, Steampunk and Post-Apocalyptic genres. The agency does not currently accept scripts, non-fiction, poetry, picture books, children's books, chapter books, short stories or young adult fiction. A cover email should be sent including information about the writer, the book's genre, blurb, inspirations, comparable authors and titles, and why the book will stand out. A synopsis and the first three chapters (or first 5,000 words) should be attached as a Word document with numbered pages. Manuscripts should not be posted. All submissions should be sent to submissions@liverpool-literary.agency. Simultaneous submissions to other agents are permitted, but the agency should be informed if representation is offered elsewhere during the process. Clare: accepts submissions from writers born, or now living in, the North of England, defined as the area from the southern boundaries of Cheshire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Yorkshire (West, South and East) up to the Scottish border and including Northumberland and Cumbria, with exceptions for writers coming through the Jericho Writers or I AM in Print programmes and sessions. Laura: accepts submissions from anywhere in the UK and Ireland, with exceptions for writers coming through the Jericho Writers or I AM in Print programmes and sessions.
