Jemima Hunt is a literary agent known for launching successful debuts in memoir and commercial fiction.

A former journalist, she represents literary fiction, commercial fiction, serious non-fiction and memoir. Her books have been nominated for the Women's Prize and Richard and Judy, and have made the Sunday Times bestseller list and been Radio 4 Book of the Week. She has held two Creative Writing Fellowships at the University of Oxford.

Agency submission guidelines

Submissions are to be sent via email to jemima@thewriterspractice.com. FICTION: Send the first three chapters and a very brief (500 words) synopsis. Include a few lines of biography. NON-FICTION: Send 10 – 15 pages including a pitch that outlines what the book is about, who your readership is, why the book is important. Include at least one chapter of sample text of the narrative, a book outline including chapter summaries and a brief biography.
