Submission guidelines
Submissions are only accepted in response to specific call outs, mainly for inclusion in anthologies. Unsolicited submissions not related to a call out will not be read. Writers are encouraged to watch for new call outs or join the mailing list. Accessibility: Deaf and Blind writers may submit by BSL video or audio file instead of text. Genres: mainly fiction and poetry is published. Memoirs and other non-fiction should not be sent, as non-fiction is only published when found independently by the press. Exclusions: no AI-generated or AI-assisted work (any such work found will be rejected); no erotica; nothing that denigrates disabled or neurodiverse people, women, or people from LGBTQ+ or Global Majority communities; no religious works or horror, especially gore or torture; sexist stereotypes, derivative plotlines, sloppy writing, clichés, romance and chick-lit are all disfavoured. Draft stage: only third-draft or later work should be sent, not first drafts. Route to a collection or novel: writers should first submit something for an anthology call out. If that piece is published and the writer shows they would be good to work with, they may be invited to submit something more substantial, such as a themed and ordered collection rather than an unfiltered gathering of everything written.
