Poetry submissions require 60-75 A5 pages of poetry to be publication-ready. Prose (fiction and non-fiction) sample: send the first chapter, or the equivalent of about 5,000 words. Double spaced, size 12 standard font. No author name on the document, as manuscripts are sometimes sent anonymised to internal readers. Include a cover page with the manuscript title. Combine into a single Word document; a PDF may also be submitted alongside the Word document to preserve formatting. Simultaneous submissions to other publishers are welcome, provided the work is withdrawn immediately from consideration elsewhere if accepted by Boiler House Press. Submission is by completing the submission form after reading the guidelines in full.
