Genres

Submission guidelines

Submissions are accepted by email to choc-lit@joffebooks.com. What to send: the full-length manuscript (minimum 60,000 words), attached as a PDF or Word doc (Word doc preferred). Include the completed submission form. In the body of the email, include a 3-paragraph synopsis and the genre the book belongs in, plus 100 words about the author and where they heard about Choc Lit. Subject line: the email subject line must contain the words CHOC LIT SUBMISSION. Genres accepted: contemporary seasonal romance (cosy and spicy), dark and morally grey romance, sports romance, romantic comedy, cosy village romance, beachy escapes, historical sagas and WWII romances. All submissions should have a happily-ever-after. Genres not accepted: non-fiction, poetry, young adult fiction, children's fiction, sci-fi or erotica. Other rules: books must be in the English language, though submissions are welcome from anywhere in the world. During the response window, only make contact again if there is an offer from another publisher or a signed literary agent.
