Submission guidelines

The starting point is a synopsis of 1-2 pages, which should include: a brief outline of the project, a statement of who the book is for and why it is needed, background on the author's knowledge of the region and skills brought to the project, and draft contents of the book. The synopsis should be completed using the downloadable Proposal Template. Up to five photos illustrating the area/activity and demonstrating photographic ability should also be sent. The proposal should be emailed to Joe Williams. Only guides in the field of walking, running, mountaineering and cycling are considered. If interested, more information will be requested and further discussion will follow; with new authors, a draft of the first 1000 words of the introduction is generally wanted, plus a sample route description, maps and photographs.
