Submission guidelines

Book proposals are accepted through the agency's online proposal portal (Submittable). Postal submissions are not accepted, and materials sent to the offices will not be returned. What to send: complete the online proposal form, which asks about the book idea, the primary audience, why the book is needed and a short author bio outlining relevant expertise or experience. A sample chapter can be included if available but is not essential at this stage. The proposal can be saved and edited over time rather than completed in one sitting. Existing printed material: where there is existing printed material to be considered (for example, a self-published book), the proposal form should be completed first; additional material will be requested after the proposal has been reviewed, if there is interest. Accessibility: if access reasons (for example, health or disability) make it difficult to use the online proposal form, contact proposals@jkp.com with 'Accessibility' in the subject line to receive the proposal questions in a different format. Agented and non-agented submissions are both accepted, and simultaneous submission to other publishers is permitted.
