Submission guidelines

Genres: crime fiction, mysteries, psychological thrillers, cosy crime, police procedurals, chillers, suspense, domestic noir, women's fiction, fantasy, historical fiction and romance (including WWII romances and sagas) are the main focus. Non-fiction, young adult fiction, children's fiction and erotica are only considered in exceptional cases. Submissions are accepted from agents, previously published (including self-published) authors, and first-time writers, from anywhere in the world, but books must be in English. What to send: email submissions@joffebooks.com with the full-length book (minimum 60,000 words) attached as a PDF or Word doc (Word doc preferred). In the body of the email include a 3-paragraph synopsis, stating the genre, and 100 words about the author. Subject line: must include the author's name, book genre and the word 'submission' (for example, 'John Smith psychological thriller submission'). Submissions without this will not reach the right people. Also state where the writer heard about Joffe Books. During the response window, only get back in touch if there is an offer from another publisher or the writer has signed with a literary agent.
