Submission guidelines
Open to book proposals all year round, by email to the editor for your subject. What they publish: business books by experts, across business strategy, finance and banking, general business interest, human resources and learning and development, logistics and supply chain, marketing and sales, risk and compliance, and skills and careers. How to submit: prepare a proposal following the Kogan Page proposal guidelines document, then email it to the editor for your subject area; the document names a commissioning editor each for business and management, human resources, marketing, risk and logistics, and trade. General enquiries go to kpinfo@koganpage.com. The proposal: ten sections, covering your biography, a proposed title, a one-sentence summary, a fuller vision for the book, a chapter by chapter table of contents (ten to twelve chapters is typical), an honest look at competing titles, the target audience with job titles, key features such as case studies and checklists, a word count and delivery timeline, and five potential endorsers. Books run to a minimum of 75,000 words, usually written in six to nine months and published within twelve to fifteen months of approval. Marketing matters: the proposal also asks for your platform in detail, from social media followings and newsletters to institutional connections, conference speaking and up to ten searchable keywords. Artificial intelligence: proposals must not be generated with it, and generated content cannot appear in the finished work, which the contract warrants is original to and written by you.
