Submission guidelines

Nine Arches Press accepts poetry collection manuscripts only during periodic open submission windows, submitted via its Submittable portal. What to send: a sample of twenty poems from the full collection manuscript, in one single document, together with a short biographical note including details of any previous or forthcoming publication. Not currently accepted: poetry pamphlets, children's poetry, collaborations or manuscripts by more than one author, or illustrated books. Eligibility: both debut collections from new or emerging poets and collections from previously published poets are considered. A track record of prior publication (in magazines, journals, anthologies, pamphlets, previous collections, prize listings, or performance/audio commissions) is expected; work should be previously unpublished as a complete collection, though individual poems may have appeared in magazines or journals. Format: submissions must be made through the Submittable portal only. Email or postal submissions are not accepted; writers unable to access Submittable should make contact to arrange an alternative method. Cost: no fee is charged for submissions. Rules: simultaneous or multiple submissions are not accepted, whether to other publishers at the same time or by sending further manuscripts before a first submission has been answered.
