Submission guidelines
Submissions are currently open to Postbox Magazine only; poetry and short story submissions to the press will recommence in April 2027. Submission windows: for the Spring issue the window opens on 15th November and closes on 31st December; for the Autumn issue the window opens on 15th May and closes on 30th June. Submissions outside these dates should not be sent. What to send: stories should be sent as email attachments to postboxmagazine@gmail.com. Contact details, including address and email, with a short relevant biography, should be sent in the covering message. Submissions can come from authors or their agents. Up to three stories may be sent, for either category or both. Submissions must be the original work of the author and must not have been published before, in print, digitally, on websites, blogs or social media. Creative non-fiction is not invited. Word count: the standard length is between 1,000 and 2,000 words, not including title. Each issue will have space for one longer story of up to 3,000 words. Format: stories should be submitted in.doc or.docx formats only; no other formats are accepted. Text should be set in 12 point Times New Roman, double-spaced, on A4. Pages should be numbered, with the author's name and word count given at the foot of the last page. Stories should be text only, with no illustrations or sound files. Payment: no payment is offered, but contributors receive a free copy and can purchase further copies at 50% discount. The editor's decision is final and no correspondence can be entered into.
