Agency submission guidelines

Submissions should include a covering letter about the author and the background to the book. Fiction: the first three chapters or approximately the first fifty pages of the work to a natural break, plus a brief synopsis. Non-fiction: a proposal up to twenty pages in length explaining what the work is about and why the author is best placed to write it. Format: attachments in Word or PDF are acceptable. Otherwise sample chapters or proposals can be pasted into the body of the submission email. Originality: submissions must be entirely the original work of the author. Generative AI must not be used in the writing or editing of the material. How to send: browse the literary agent page to find the agent best suited, and submit directly to them or their assistant. Submit to only one agent. The agency does not accept postal submissions. The agency does not represent scripts for theatre, film or television. The agency cannot acknowledge receipt of material and cannot accept responsibility for anything sent, so writers should retain a copy of material submitted.
