Agency submission guidelines

Submissions are made via an online submission form (Query Manager), not by post or phone. What to do: select an agent from the drop-down menu on the website and follow the instructions on that agent's pop-up submission form. Agents not appearing on the drop-down are currently closed to submissions. What to send: a one-sentence summary of the book or manuscript, the category (fiction, nonfiction subject areas, children's/middle grade/young adult, or poetry), comparable titles, referral information, the book's title, and the first 50 pages of the manuscript. Rules: do not submit to more than one agent at the agency simultaneously; such submissions will be automatically disregarded. Exclusions: original screenplays and screenwriters are not represented. Hardcopy submissions or queries by mail or phone are not accepted and will not receive a response.
