Jane is a literary agent and partner at Lutyens & Rubinstein, representing fiction and non-fiction.
She began her career at the agency in 2006, established her own list in 2010 and became a partner in 2016, later becoming a full partner and co-owner in 2023. She oversees the agency's Rights and Contracts Department, working on translation, overseas deals, audio, and film and TV rights for the authors she represents.
Submissions are made by email to submissions@lutyensrubinstein.co.uk. Include a covering letter, a short synopsis and the first three chapters (or up to 5000 or so words). If a particular agent is wanted, this should be noted for the reader, Susannah Godman. Plays and film or television scripts are not accepted. Unsolicited manuscripts should not be posted. The agency cannot be held responsible for material arriving by post or by hand. No feedback is offered on declined material, but writers will be informed of the outcome rather than left without a response.
Anna is a junior agent at Lutyens & Rubinstein. She joined the agency in 2019, working in the bookshop before moving to the agency full-time in 2022. She works closely with Sarah and Felicity, assisting them with their clients, and has recently begun to build her own list of authors.

Felicity began her career in books at a small literary agency in New York and, after a decade working across publishing on both sides of the Atlantic, left her role as Managing Director of Macmillan Publishers London to co-found Lutyens & Rubinstein with Sarah Lutyens. She and her colleagues flourished, even opening a beautiful independent bookshop in 2009 that offered invaluable insights into reader choices and showcased their authors. By 2023, the agency had outgrown the shop’s basement location and moved into separate offices.

She began her career in bookselling and at the Literary Review, before working in publishing rights departments. She also sells UK rights for the Australian publisher Text. She reads crime fiction obsessively and has wide-ranging taste in literary fiction and non-fiction.

Maria represents both fiction and nonfiction writers at Mushens Entertainment. Before joining the agency in September 2025, she worked at InkWell Management in New York for over eight years as an assistant and agent. She began her career in publishing as a Foreign Rights Assistant at Janklow & Nesbit in New York. Maria graduated from University College Dublin with a BA in English and Drama, then obtained her Master's in Literature and Modernity from the University of Edinburgh.
