About

Nicky works as a book agent at WGM Atlantic Talent Group, alongside her career as a freelance book editor.

She worked in-house for publishers for almost a decade and has freelanced for twenty years. She currently works with major publishers including Penguin, Random House and Transworld, as well as many self-publishing authors.

Agency submission guidelines

WGM Atlantic takes author submissions through a prepared enquiry on its website. Choose Authors on the Join us page, follow the guidance, then use Apply for representation: this prepares an email in your own email app addressed to hello@wgmatlanticgroup.com, to which you add your materials and send. The form itself does not send anything to the agency. Covering letter: introduce yourself and your book, with its title, genre, intended readership, word count and whether the manuscript is complete. Fiction: a short synopsis covering the whole story, including the ending, and the opening three chapters or up to 10,000 words. Non-fiction: a proposal outlining the idea, intended audience and chapter structure, plus sample writing and the experience or expertise you bring to the subject. Writing background: relevant publishing history, awards or experience, if any. Say whether you have existing representation and whether the work has already been submitted to publishers. Illustrated books and books for younger readers: state the age range and include a link to relevant artwork. Keep the initial submission to one book. Label documents with your name and project title, include any passwords for links, and share only material you are entitled to submit. Sending an enquiry does not itself establish representation. Questions about applying go to hello@wgmatlanticgroup.com. Screenwriters have their own route on the same page: a covering note and writing CV, a logline for one project, and a private link to one complete original script in PDF.
