About

Gill is an agent at Bath Literary Agency, representing authors and illustrators of fiction and non-fiction.

She graduated with a Publishing & Marketing degree from Oxford Brookes University and has worked in publishing since 1996. Her career includes sales, marketing and commercial roles at Barefoot Books and Egmont. She co-founded the Bath Festival of Children's Literature and now runs Events of Wonder with her husband, John McLay.

Agency submission guidelines

Submissions can be sent by post or electronically. What to send: a short synopsis of the work; a covering letter with full contact details (including email address) and background information. Fiction: send the first three chapters, excluding any prologues. Picture books: send the full manuscript. Postal submissions: include a stamped self-addressed envelope (SAE). Material is not returned if one is not included. If only a postal address is given (no email), a reply will only be sent if an SAE is included.
