Laurie is a Literary Agent at Peters Fraser + Dunlop, representing books and journalism and actively building a list of adult fiction and non-fiction.

She completed a BA in English Literature and Creative Writing, worked in the sales team at Dorling Kindersley, and joined the agency in 2017, beginning her own list in 2020. On the fiction side she represents a range of genres alongside a smaller non-fiction list, and represents several Sunday Times bestselling authors whose work has been shortlisted for and won prizes including the Waterstones Debut Fiction Prize, the Jhalak Prize, the Somerset Maugham Award, the Dublin Literary Award, the Edge Hill Prize, the Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year Award, and cookery awards from Fortnum & Mason and the Guild of Food Writers. She also looks after serialisation rights and journalism across the agency.

Submissions are by email only, to one agent at a time; email the agent or their assistant directly, and do not send hard copy. Send the first three chapters or around fifty pages, a full synopsis and a covering letter with a brief writing CV. For non-fiction, send a detailed proposal alongside the covering letter and CV.   Caroline Michel DBE has been chief executive of PFD since 2007, and chairs the Hay Festival, having previously served as its trustee. She was formerly chair of the BFI Trust, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and of the Royal Society of Literature, vice president of the London Library and a trustee of Historic Royal Palaces. She has sat on boards including the BFI and Somerset House, served on the Booker Prize Advisory Committee, and has been a longstanding champion of libraries and librarians.
